The purpose of the Racing Infrastructure Fund is to support priority infrastructure projects to deliver to the growth and sustainability of the Queensland racing industry.

To date, the following projects have been approved for funding:

Eagle Farm infield works - $12 million

  • Approved on 9 July 2015.
  • Works included a new vehicular tunnel to provide access to on course stabling and maintenance operational areas, a new pedestrian tunnel to provide access to infield areas on race day and patrons’ car parking, and services and associated infrastructure improvements
  • Completed in 2017.

Ipswich Turf Club (Bundamba Racecourse) - $13 million

  • Approved on 25 May 2017.
  • Works include remedial turf works, a new building for jockeys, stewards, food and beverage facilities and other facilities; minor infield development and improvements to the outfield, and a potential subdivision for a commercial precinct.

Country and Regional Capital Works Program - $6 million

  • Approved on 25 May 2017.
  • Works include a range of minor capital works supporting race clubs across the state.
  • Expected completion in 2019.

Eagle Farm Track Remediation Works - $3.7 million

  • Approved on 16 March 2018.
  • Works included remediation of the Eagle Farm racecourse proper.
  • Racing returned to Eagle Farm on 22 December 2018.

Brisbane Racing Club (Eagle Farm and Doomben) Critical Capital Works - $3.5 million

  • Approved on 16 March 2018.
  • A broad range of works including a power supply upgrade at Eagle Farm, an upgrade to training tracks lighting, an automatic electric gate at an infield vehicle tunnel, an equine pool precinct upgrade, relocation of stewards’ towers, two new towers at Doomben and other works.
  • Expected completion July 2019.
