Why did your organisation decide to join the program?
ECCQ promotes the benefits of multiculturalism generally, thus is well suited to promote the Charter’s principles. ECCQ advocates for all Queenslanders to be able to participate in all aspects of Australian life. The Ambassador program shares exemplary practice and strategies used by various organisations to turn the principles into reality. ECCQ is very committed to this and sees huge benefit when we all share our success stories.
What have you enjoyed most about the Ambassador program?
I have enjoyed the Speaker Series which has been wonderful and also learning about other organisations diversity and inclusion strategies.
How does diversity benefit your business/organisation?
We work with diverse communities across our business units and our diverse workforce helps us to deliver culturally appropriate services, such as health care, employment and training, education, leadership and governance training.
What are some practical ways your organisation is bringing Multicultural Charter to life?
We deliver programs and services to people to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and support strongly equal access to services and programs. We also promote a sense of belonging and community resilience through our many programs, particularly the Multicultural Sector Development Program. Our staff live, breathe and celebrate multiculturalism.
