Grants review

The Queensland Government is committed to developing a new model for grant funding to councils.

“It’s about responding to what councils want and what their communities actually need” said Executive Director of the Grants Review, Kim Mahoney.

Over the last financial year more than $970 million was allocated in infrastructure grants to councils including Federal Government assistance.

The aim of the review is to make the grant application process simpler for councils, so they can easily access the different funding programs to benefit their community.

“I know this grants review can potentially make a huge difference. It’s about getting money to councils that need it, in a way that works for them and flows through to their communities,” said Ms Mahoney. “It’s about responding to what councils want and what their communities actually need.”
