The Minister for Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs is seeking nominations for members of the Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council (the Council) for a three-year term commencing on 1 August 2019.

The Council will meet at least twice a year, with more frequent meetings if determined necessary by the Council.

Any interested resident of Queensland is encouraged to nominate. Members of the Council will be appointed for a period of three years.

We welcome your nomination if you are:

  • aware of the needs and concerns of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • have a commitment to the principles of the Multicultural Queensland Charter
  • are involved in community activities and have strong community networks.

Key dates

  • Nominations open Monday 4 February 2019
  • Nominations close 5.00 pm, Friday 15 March 2019

Submitting your nomination

If you would like to apply to a be member of the Council, please submit a written nomination through the link below. Your application will be assessed against your statement of experience and the role of the Council, by the selection panel and short listed for the Minister’s consideration.

What you should include in your written nomination:

  1. Apply online through SmartyGrants.
    Your application should include a concise statement of experience outlining the skills, knowledge and experience you would bring to the role in the following areas:
    • demonstrated awareness and understanding of the strategic issues impacting on culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Queensland
    • demonstrated understanding of the principles of the Multicultural Queensland Charter
    • involvement in community initiatives and networks.
  2. Attach a resume or curriculum vitae (two pages maximum – typed not hand written).
  3. Attach a completed appointment to government body Personal Particulars Form (PDF, 173 KB)
